SUCCESSFUL CONCLUSION OF WORKSHOP ON MASTERING CEREMONIES AND PRESENTATION AT SRI LANKA BROADCASTING CORPORATION
The Media Division of the Sri Lanka Air Force arranged a comprehensive Five-Day Workshop aimed at enhancing the skills of in house Compères. The event took place from 10 to 16 October 2024, at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), renowned as a trailblazer in the field of Compère training within Sri Lanka.
Under the expert guidance of facilitators, the workshop proved to be an immersive experience. Mr. Indika Jayarathna, Director of Sinhala Service, along with the esteemed presence of Senior Announcer/Journalist Mr. Wasantha Rohana, Assistant Director Training Lieutenant Colonel Thushari Welagedara, Award-Winning Announcer Mr. Himananda Rajapaksha and Director of News Mr. TDKA Jayantha, collectively enriched the participants with valuable insights.
The culminating course, at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, witnessed the presence of the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, Dr. Uditha Gayashan Gunasekara who attended as the Chief Guest. The Director Media of the SLAF, Group Captain Eranda Geeganage, Senior Staff Officer, Wing Commander Sanjeewa Nanayakkara and officials of SLBC also attended for the event.
This marks the Third instance of SLAF Compères undergoing formal training in the art of event compering at SLBC. The meticulously selected group of 13 participants, comprising officers and other ranks, underwent the course following an aptitude test evaluated by a selection board appointed by the Director Training.
