MEMBERS OF THE AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE AND STRATEGIC STUDIES COURSE VISIT AIR FORCE HEADQUARTERS

A delegation from the Australian Defence and Strategic Studies Course visited the Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters today (21 October 2024). Comprising 28 members and led by Colonel Lara Terese Troy, the delegation engaged in a courtesy call with the Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Wickremaratne, on behalf of the Commander of the Air Force. During this meeting, they conducted cordial discussions on matters of mutual interest, culminating in the exchange of official plaques to commemorate the occasion. The delegation was accompanied by Colonel Amanda Johnston, the Australian Defence Advisor to Sri Lanka.

Following the meeting, Air Commodore Priyamal Fernando, the Director of Doctrine and Policy Development at the Directorate of Planning in the Sri Lanka Air Force, delivered a presentation on the 'Role and Task of the Sri Lanka Air Force’ .This was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session that included participation from members of the Air Force Board Management and Senior Staff Officers of the SLAF Directorates.

Sri Lanka Air Force, is the only aerial arm among the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, responsible for defending the nation's airspace and supporting its sister services for all kind of operations.
