The Intermediate Weightlifting Championship 2024, organized by the Sri Lanka Weightlifting Federation, was held at the National Sports Complex in Torrington from 08 to 10 November 2024. Demonstrating exceptional skill and strength, the SLAF Women’s Weightlifting Team emerged as the champions, while the SLAF Men’s Weightlifting Team achieved the runner-up position. Aircraftman Sandeepa GAC and Aircraftwoman Chathurani MHD were recognized as the ‘Best Lifter’ in the Men’s and Women’s categories, respectively.

The competition attracted numerous weightlifting clubs from across the island, all competing for the championship titles. The event was attended by the Chairman of SLAF Weightlifting, Air Commodore Dinesh Jayaweera.
