THE THIRD EDITION EAGLES’ CATALINA MONTHLY MEDAL GOLF TOURNAMENT CONCLUDES SUCCESSFULLY

The third iteration of the Eagles’ Catalina Medal Golf Tournament, organized under the guidance of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, concluded successfully yesterday (24 November 2024) at the Eagles’ Catalina Golf Course in Koggala. This prestigious event, which has quickly established itself as a highlight in Sri Lanka’s golfing calendar, attracted many participants competing for top honours.

The Chairman Air Force Golf, Air Commodore Asela Jayasekara, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and initiated the tournament with the First Tee-Off, adding distinction to the event.

The tournament saw exceptional performances across both Ladies' and Gents' divisions. Ms. Anouk Chitty and Mr. Olga Ashley Herath secured awards for the Longest Drive in their respective categories.

In the Gross Score competition, Ms. Thiru Jesudasan was named Runner-Up in the Women’s category, while Group Captain Chandu Chandrasekara earned the same in the Men’s division.
In the Net Score competition, Ms. Anouk Chitty and Group Captain Chandu Chandrasekara were the Runners-Up in the Women’s and Men’s categories, respectively.

Ms. Anouk Chitty and Mr. Olga Ashley Herath succeeded in the Gross Score category for the Ladies’ and Gents’ divisions. The coveted Eagles’ Catalina Monthly Medal for November was awarded to Ms. Elsie Pathmanathan in the Women’s division and Mr. Olga Ashley Herath in the Men’s division, both securing the Winner Net Score titles.

The awards were presented during a ceremony in the afternoon, attended by Chairman Air Force Golf, Air Commodore Asela Jayasekara, as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by Commanding Officer SLAF Station Koggala, Group Captain Priyadarshana Hettiarachchi and other SLAF officials.

The event concluded on a high note, with participants eagerly looking forward to future editions of the Eagles’ Catalina Medal Golf Tournament.
