The Change of Command at SLAF Station Morawewa was held yesterday (24 December 2024) with a  Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade at the Station Parade Square.  The acting Commanding Officer, Wing Commander WMPC Wijekoon USP handed over the command to Group Captain PS Alexander USP, MSc (Security & Strategic Studies), Pg Dip (Defence Management), Pg Dip (International Relations), Justice of Peace, psc.

Group Captain Alexander, who previously held the appointment of Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Palavi, assumed his new responsibilities during the parade. To commemorate the occasion, the newly appointed Commanding Officer planted a mango sapling, symbolizing a new step of growth and progress for the station.
