SLAF LOGISTICS SCHOOL DECLARED OPEN AT SLAF BASE KATUNAYAKE TO ENHANCE PROFESSIONALISM

The ‘SLAF Logistics School’ was declared open at SLAF Base Katunayake yesterday (22 January 2025) by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa.

This ‘SLAF Logistics School’ which functions directly under the Directorate of Logistics, will facilitate many Logisticians to get improve their professionalism. Further, this School will provide a platform for research, innovation and the exchange of best practices while empowering personnel with the knowledge, skills and confidence to effectively support the operational requirements and contribute significantly to the overall success of SLAF Vision and Mission.

The School comprises smart and advanced technical equipment with air-conditioned classroom facilities, which will be immensely beneficial for the trainees of the Logistics School in SLAF Base Katunayake.

The SLAF intends to equip students with unique skills and has plans to utilize qualified lecturers from outside organizations, professional bodies in Sri Lanka, provide students with outside exposure and also provide them with standard lecture notes and study packs.

Professor Nalin Abeysekara, the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies of the Open University of Sri Lanka attended as the Keynote Speaker of the Opening Ceremony while Chief of Staff, Members of the Air Force Board of Management, Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, former Director General Logistics, retired and serving senior logistics officers also attended the occasion.
