SLAF CONTINGENT IN MINUSCA SUPPORTS SCHOOLCHILDREN IN BRIA THROUGH CIMIC INITIATIVE

In a gesture of goodwill and support for local schoolchildren, the 10th Sri Lanka Air Force Contingent deployed in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) conducted a Civil-Military Coordination (CIMIC) activity at Pende School, Bria, on 31 January 2025.

As part of the initiative, 100 sets of stationery items and 300 clothing items were distributed to the schoolchildren to support and encourage their education. This effort aimed to motivate them to excel in their studies while bringing some joy to children who have been affected by conflict in several villages around Bria.

The event was successfully conducted under the guidance of the SLAF Aviation Contingent Commander, Group Captain Uditha De Silva, with the support of all contingent members and the Zambian Battalion Charlie Company. The initiative was carried out in consultation with CIMIC officials of Sector East, UN Headquarters.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
