The No. 6 Helicopter Squadron at SLAF Base Anuradhapura celebrated  its 32nd anniversary on 15 March 2025 under the leadership of Group Captain AR Pathirage. Established on 15 March 1993 at SLAF Base Katunayake with the induction of Mil Mi-17 helicopters, the squadron was subsequently relocated to SLAF Base Vavuniya on 29 April 1993 and later shifted to SLAF Base Anuradhapura to cater the operational requirements of the nation.

The anniversary proceedings commenced with the customary Working Parade at the squadron premises, inspected by the Commanding Officer.

Following the parade, a friendly Elle match was held at the Base Sports Arena, strengthening comradeship among squadron members. As part of the anniversary celebrations, the squadron carried out a community service project at Keerikkulama Primary School on 14 March 2025. With the support of the Base Medical and Dental Sections, the Zonal Education Office and the Medical Office of Health (MOH), the project included medical and dental clinics that provided essential healthcare services to students, teachers, and parents. Additionally, significant renovations were undertaken to improve the school's infrastructure, creating a more conducive learning environment for the children.
