CHANGE OF COMMAND AT MTROW SLAF BASE KATUNAYAKE

The change of command of Mechanical Transport Repair and Overhaul Wing (MTR&OW), SLAF Base Katunayake was held today (17 March 2025). The traditional Handing Over / Taking Over parade was conducted at the MTR&OW premises, where the formerly Actg Commanding Officer, Wing Commander MADN Indunil handed over the command to incoming Commanding Officer Group Captain SN Kiriwella BSc (Def Stu), AMIE (SL), MR Ae S, ptsc, Z.
Following the taking over of duties, the new Commanding Officer addressed the Officers and the personnel in charge of Sections of the formation and conveyed his intentions for the development of the Wing to meet the SLAF requirements.
Group Captain SN Kiriwella BSc (Def Stu), AMIE (SL), MR Ae S, ptsc, Z, previously held the appointment of the Head of Department, Aeronautical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Ratmalana before being appointed as the Commanding Officer, Mechanical Transport Repair and Overhaul Wing.
