SLAF STATION SRI JAYEWARDENEPURA HOSTS CAREER UPLIFTING PROGRAMME FOR WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT

The Seva Vanitha Unit of SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura conducted the Career Uplifting Programme in line with International Women’s Day 2025 on 19 March 2025 at AFHQ Sri Jayewardenepura.

The event was organized under the guidance and initiative of the Commanding Officer, Air Commodore Manoj Galappaththi to empower Lady Officers and Airwomen by focusing on various aspects of work life balance, mental well-being, personal hygiene and key medical issues.

The event featured expert speakers who shared their knowledge and expertise, Mrs. Deepika Nilanthi Student Counselor of the Gothemi Balika Vidyalaya who spoke on work, life balance, mental wellbeing, Dr. Erandi Weerasekara conducted a session on key medical issues and nutrition facts that impact overall health. Additionally, Dr. Pabilis Silva provided a valuable tips on food making and discussed healthy eating habits while Mr. Kalana Jayasinghe and Mr. Shanith Fernando conducted an engaging grooming session, offering valuable insight into personal development and self-confidence.

The event was graced by the presence of the Chairperson of Seva Vanitha Unit of SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura, Mrs. Sandamali Galappaththi, Commanding Officer SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura, Air Commodore Manoj Galappaththi, Senior members of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Shanika Liyanarachchi and Mrs. Anusha Darshi along with Lady Officers and Airwomen.
