The Aeronautical Research and Development Wing (AR&DW) at SLAF Station Katukurunda proudly celebrated its 4th anniversary today (30 April 2025). As the pioneering body of aeronautical research in the Sri Lanka Air Force, the AR&DW has consistently contributed to the SLAF through a series of aeronautical and avionics-related research and development initiatives.

Functioning as a centre that promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing among professionals from diverse disciplines, the Wing continues to deliver innovative solutions to address some of the most critical challenges faced by the organization.

To mark the occasion, a customary Working Parade was held with the participation of officers airmen and civilian personnel of the Wing, and was reviewed by the present Commanding Officer, Group Captain Manjula Abeywickrama.

As part of its commitment to social responsibility, the Wing undertook a community service project involving the renovation of the Jayanthi Children Orphanage in Payagala. Additionally, an Elle tournament was organized adding a spirit of unity and celebration to the anniversary events.
