JAPAN-LANKA FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION DONATES EMERGENCY VEHICLES AND SCHOLARSHIPS TO SLAF

The Japan-Lanka Friendship Association, with the generous support of the President Sun Tec Bios Corporation Company Limited, Mr. Goto Hideaki, President A-Global Company Limited, Mrs. Jin Songyue and the other members of the delegation, handed over fire vehicle and Nissan Ambulance, ten scholarships for deserved schoolchildren and a consignment of reading spectacles with Pencil boxes to the Sri Lanka Air Force today (16 May 2025) in a ceremonial procession at Air Force Headquarters. The delegation officially handed over the vehicles to the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, during the colourful ceremony.

In appreciation of the donation, a special cultural programme was held at the Air Force Headquarters, with the objective of making the day memorable for the Japanese delegation. The friendship between the Japan-Lanka Friendship Association and the Sri Lanka Air Force since 2015 and has been strengthened by the generous donations of Fire Vehicles, Ambulances, Turntable Ladder Vehicles and a Fire Car.

The event was attended by Vice President of the Japan - Lanka Friendship Association, Dr.  Eranga Hasanthi, Chief of Staff, Members of the Air Force Board of Management, Commanding Officer SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura, Air Commodore VGB  Piyasiri, a cross-section of officers, airmen and airwomen.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
