SLAF FIRE SERVICE CONDUCTS AWARENESS PROGRAMME AT SAMANALAWEWA HYDROPOWER STATION

The SLAF Fire Service conducted a Fire Safety Awareness Lecture and Firefighting Demonstration on 20 May 2025 for the personnel of the Samanalawewa Hydropower Station, further strengthening inter-agency collaboration and promoting industrial fire safety awareness.

This programme was conducted under the guidance of the Director General Air Operations, Air Vice Marshal Deshapriya Silva. The programme included a comprehensive lecture on fire prevention techniques, emergency response protocols and practical demonstrations of firefighting procedures. The event aimed to enhance the knowledge and preparedness of the station’s staff in handling fire-related emergencies.

The Chief Engineer of the Samanalawewa Hydropower Station, Mr. Amila Weerasingha and the Assistant Engineer and Coordinator of the programme, Mr. DS Madapaatha, graced the occasion and expressed their appreciation for the support extended by the SLAF.
