The newly established Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Treatment Plant  of SLAF Base Vavuniya was declared open by the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe today (26 May 2025) fulfilling a proper sources of safe drinking water facility of the serving personnel of this Base.

This project was concluded under the supervision of Base Commander of SLAF Base Vavuniya, Air Commodore Asela Kuruwita and the same has been facilitated with safer environment and dedicated care takers. This project commenced through the fully funding of the Professor Sivalingam Sivanthan donor from the United States of America. The manpower was provided by the Sri Lanka Air Force.

The event was attended by the Base Commander of SLAF Base Vavuniya, Air Commodore Asela Kuruwita, Secretary Seva Vanitha Unit, Wing Commander Lilangi Randeni, the staff of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and a cross-section of officers and other rankers of SLAF Base Vavuniya.
