
SLAF FIRE SERVICE DEMONSTRATES OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE AT ‘MECHNOVA 2025’ TECHNICAL EXHIBITION

The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Fire Service showcased its capabilities at Mechnova 2025, a prominent technical exhibition held on 29 and 30 May 2025 at Imbulana Sri Sena National College. The event drew over 1,700 students from the host institution and several invited schools, providing an ideal platform for the SLAF to promote fire safety awareness and demonstrate its technical proficiency.
A dedicated Fire and Rescue exhibition stall was set up, featuring a well-curated display of fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, and advanced rescue equipment. The interactive presentation offered students and visitors a practical insight into the SLAF’s emergency response protocols and fire prevention measures, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and safety.
The exhibition was honoured by the presence of the Governor of Sabaragamuwa Province, Hon. Mrs. Champa Janaki Rajaratne, who praised the SLAF for its commitment to public outreach and its educational efforts in enhancing community awareness on fire safety.
This initiative was conducted under the strategic direction of Air Vice Marshal Deshshpriya Silva, Director General Air Operations, reinforcing the SLAF’s dedication to national service and civil-military cooperation.
