INAUGURATION OF THE CENTRE FOR CORRECTION, DISCIPLINE AND REHABILITATION AND COMMENCEMENT OF FIRST CCDR COURSE

The opening ceremony of the Centre for Correction, Discipline and Rehabilitation (CCDR) and the inaugural CCDR course was held today (02 June 2025) at the lecture hall of the venue.

The Acting Director General Ground Operations and Director Personnel and Planning, Air Commodore Manoj Galappaththi, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore Asela Jayasekera, Commanding Officer Base Hospital Katunayake, Group Captain HPAS Hewawasam and other officials attended the occasion.

The programme consists of two course modules: one for service-retained personnel and the other for service-released personnel.The goal of this programme is to rehabilitate personnel with long absences before reintegrating them into the SLAF by helping them readjust to military life. Likewise, service-released personnel are supported in transitioning to civilian society.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
