SLAF STATION SIGIRIYA CONDUCTS HOSPITALITY TRAINING PROGRAM FOR THAMBUTHTHEGAMA STUDENTS

SLAF Station Sigiriya conducted a full-day educational and practical training program yesterday (02 June 2025) for Home Science students from the Thambuththegama Educational Zone. The event was held under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Group Captain SV Premawardhane.

A total of 52 students and 15 teachers participated in the program, which was designed to provide practical learning experiences and enhance students’ knowledge in hospitality and culinary arts. The training was organized by the School of Hospitality Management – Sigiriya, with the support of professional instructors from the Sri Lanka Air Force.

The sessions included interactive workshops and practical demonstrations covering key areas such as Cooking Practices, Food Safety, Food Presentation and Kitchen Management. These activities aimed to develop essential skills for students interested in careers within the hospitality industry.

The program was attended by the Deputy Director of Education (Administration) from the Thambuththegama Zonal Education Office, Mrs. SMBJ Samarathunga.
