The Handing Over / Taking Over parade in view of the Change of Command at SLAF Station Palaly was conducted on 16 June 2025 at the Station Parade Square. The traditional customs proceeded, where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain WMA Kumarasiri RSP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), MA (IR), MRDP, psc. temporarily handed over the Command to Wing Commander WAPM Wickramaarachchi MSc (Def & Strat Stu), Pg Dip(Def Mgt), psc to resume duties as the Acting Commanding Officer of the SLAF Station Palaly.

Later, the new Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Palaly, Group Captain DSS Seneviratne USP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc officially took over the office today (20 June 2025)  from Acting Commanding Officer, Wing Commander WAPM Wicramaarachchi.

The incoming Commanding Officer, Group Captain DSS Senevirathe previously executed his duties as the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Iranamadu before being appointed as the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Palaly.
