LEGAL AND PROCEDURAL INSIGHTS SHARED WITH SLAF LOGISTICS OFFICERS

A dedicated training session focusing on ‘Legal Aspects in Contract Administration and SLAF Procurement Practices’ was successfully conducted for logistics officers of the SLAF at the SLAF Trade Training School (TTS), Ekala today (27 June 2025).

This session was delivered by Director Supplies and Services at Air Force Headquarters, Group Captain Kapila De Silva, who provided in-depth insights into the legal regime of public procurement, institutional frameworks and contract administration practices relevant to SLAF operations.

Organized as a hybrid lecture, the session witnessed the active participation of logistics officers physically present at SLAF TTS Ekala, as well as officers from other SLAF establishments who joined virtually. The event was honoured by the presence of Director General Logistics, Air Vice Marshal Gladwin Atapattu.
The programme was coordinated by the Logistics School at SLAF Base Katunayake, continuing its mandate to enhance professional competencies and legal awareness among SLAF logistics professionals. The interactive session covered essential areas such as procurement philosophies, public procurement contracts, relevant Sri Lankan laws and evolving trends in e-Government procurement systems.
