
ANNUAL COMMANDER’S INSPECTION OF SLAF STATION MORAWEWA

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, conducted the Commander’s Inspection of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Morawewa today (28 June 2025).
Prior to the formal inspection, the Commander reviewed the Commander’s Inspection Parade, which was commanded by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Morawewa, Group Captain Prabath Alexander.
Certificates of Commendation were awarded by the Commander of the Air Force to two service personnel in recognition of their outstanding and commendable contributions to SLAF Station Morawewa and the Sri Lanka Air Force as a whole.

Throughout the inspection, the Commander visited several key areas of the station, including the Station Headquarters, Officers’ Mess, No. 34 Regiment Wing, RSF Wing, Main Guard Room, Armory, MT Section, Hospital, WOs’ and SNCOs’ Mess, JNCOs’ Social Club, Airmen’s Social Club, Tusker Billet, Billiard Room, Rice Mill and Stores and the Welfare Complex. He also participated in the All Ranks Lunch held at the Airmen’s Mess.
During the visit, the Commander has witnessed the new emergency threat detection and quick reaction mechanism, devised by the station, driven through 4G CCTV system and drone technology and the ambulance that had recovered and modified as a mobile hospital to be used for the RSF operational and training commitments.
Concluding the inspection, the Commander addressed all personnel, expressing his sincere appreciation for their dedication and hard work in upholding the standards of the station.
