The change of Command at No 2 Mechanical Transport Repair and Overhaul Wing in SLAF Base Vavuniya took place today (30 June 2025). The outgoing Commanding Officer, Wing Commander BS Gamage BSc (Def Stu) Aero Eng, A Eng, AMIE (SL), MIM (SL) handed over the duties to Wing Commander GDP Premadasa USP, BSc (Mech Eng). 

The outgoing Commanding Officer, Wing Commander BS Gamage will continue the duties as the Officer Commanding Transport Service in SLAF Base Vavuniya. The new Commanding Officer, Wing Commander GDP Premadasa, previously held the appointment of Senior Staff Officer General Engineering Personal and Planning at Air Force headquarters Sri Jayewardenepura.
