SLAF CONDUCTS SUCCESSFUL FOUR-DAY MINDFULNESS WORKSHOP FOR OVER 600 PERSONNEL
A comprehensive Mindfulness Workshop was successfully conducted recently at the SLAF Headquarters 'Horizon' hall. The workshop sessions were expertly facilitated by Dr. Nalin Jayasuriya and Dr. Kaushalya Perera, distinguished professionals in their respective fields. Dr. Nalin Jayasuriya, a renowned Management Trainer and Business consultant, brought his extensive expertise in human potential development and organizational psychology to the mindfulness programme. Dr. Kaushalya Perera, a medical consultant specializing in diabetes and an expert practitioner of mindfulness.
The programme witnessed active participation from a diverse cross-section of SLAF personnel, more than 600 officers and airmen including senior officers from all SLAF establishments across the country. The sessions were structured on a rotational basis, ensuring comprehensive coverage and maximum participation from all service personnel over the four-day period.
The programme, conceptualized by the Commander and Chief of Staff and implemented through the Directorate of Welfare, focused on practical mindfulness techniques and their application in military service contexts, providing participants with valuable tools for stress management, enhanced focus, and overall personal development.
The final day of the workshop was graced by the presence of the Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Lasitha Sumanaweera who presented tokens of appreciation to both Dr. Nalin Jayasuriya and Dr. Kaushalya Perera for recognition of their valuable contributions and dedication to the programme.
