The Change of Command of SLAF Base Anuradhapura was held today (16 July 2025). The handing over/ taking over parade was conducted at the base parade ground where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Air Commodore PN Gunathilake WWV and Bar, RWP, RSP, USP, MMS (Mil Com), Msc (Strat stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), MIM (SL), AMITD (SL), fawc, psc, qfi. handed over the command to Air Commodore SAPT Piyarathne RSP, USP, MMS (Mil Com - PRC), Msc (Sec & Strat Std), Bsc (Def stu) in Mgt (Hons), MIM(SL), fawc(Pak), psc.

The outgoing Commanding Officer, Air Commodore PN Gunathilake will take over the appointment of  acting  Director Air Operations at AFHQ Sri Jayewardenepura.
