Sri Lanka Air Force Base Hingurakgoda successfully concluded the ‘Guwan Mithudam’ community service project today (29 July 2025) at Kumaragama Anura Primary School, a mixed school located in the Hingurakgoda area. The project involved the renovation of ablution blocks and the enhancement of sanitation facilities. This initiative was carried out under the guidance of the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe.

The school had long faced challenges due to inadequate sanitation facilities. The newly renovated ablution blocks are expected to significantly improve the hygiene and well-being of the students.

The project was completed under the directives of the Base Commander, Air Commodore Dinesh Jayaweera and officially handed over to the school in a ceremony attended by Acting Base Commander, Group Captain Kanchana Liyanarachchi, members of the Seva Vanitha Unit of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda, the Principal of Kumaragama Anura Primary School as well as teachers and students.

The Seva Vanitha Unit of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda coordinated and supervised the entire project, with the Base Work Section providing their full support and commitment to ensure its timely and successful completion.
