SLAF WOMEN’S KARATE TEAM CROWNED CHAMPIONS AT 13TH DEFENCE SERVICES GAMES
The Karate Finals of the 13th Defence Services Games 2025, organized by the Sri Lanka Army, were held on 04 and 05 August 2025 at the SL Army Indoor Stadium in Panagoda. The tournament concluded with impressive and spirited performances, highlighting the increasing competitiveness and high standards of Karate within the Tri-Services.
The SLAF Women’s Karate Team emerged as Champions, securing four Gold, four Silver and four Bronze medals. The SLAF Men’s team clinched the Runners-Up position claiming three Gold and 10 Bronze medals.
The event was graced by Major General RD Sallay, who attended as the Chief Guest. The finals were also witnessed by the Chairman of SLAF Karate, Air Vice Marshal Vajira Senadheera, the Secretary of SLAF Karate, Group Captain Jayarathne Amarasinghe. members of the Air Force Sports Council, senior officers and other ranks.
