INTER UNIT SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP 2025
The 53rd Inter Unit Swimming Championship 2025, organized by the SLAF Aquatic Sports Team, was successfully held from 05 to 07 August 2025 at the Aquatic Sports Complex, SLAF Base Ratmalana, with the participation of students from guest schools, including St. John’s College - Nugegoda, Prince of Wales - Moratuwa, Anula Vidyalaya - Nugegoda, Viharamahadevi Balika Vidyalaya – Kiribathgoda and Gothami Balika Vidyalaya - Colombo.
In the Men’s Category, SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa claimed the Overall Championship, with SLAF Academy China Bay securing the Runners-Up position. In the Women’s Category, the SLAF Base Katunayake Technical Formation emerged as Overall Champions, while SLAF Base Hingurakgoda finished as Runners-Up.
The closing ceremony was graced by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Damian Weerasinghe, as the Chief Guest. The occasion was further honored by the presence of the Chairman Air Force Aquatic Sports, Air Vice Marshal Deshapriya Silva, President Pentathlon at Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Mr. Nishantha Piyasena, members of the Air Force Sports Council, officers, representatives of national aquatic sports bodies and other distinguished invitees, who witnessed the exciting finals and the presentation of awards.
