The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of No. 26 English Medium and No. 97 Sinhala Medium Non-Commissioned Officers' Management Courses was held on  yesterday  (15 August 2025) at the SLAF Academy China Bay under the patronage of the Director General Aeronautical Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Indika Wickrmasinghe as the Chief Guest and Vice Chancellor, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Dr. Janaka Pushpakumara as the Guest of Honour.

The core purpose behind this 14-week long course is to groom Non-Commissioned Officers of the Tri Forces with robust academic sense, efficient managerial skills and sharp leadership traits. Affiliated with the University of Rajarata, the course culminated in the awarding of Diploma in Management to eligible Non-Commissioned Officers.

The No. 26 English Medium and No. 97 Sinhala Medium comprised 65 Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and 72 Junior Non-Commissioned Officers from the SLAF, 02 Junior Non-Commissioned Officer from the SL Army, 01 Senior Non-Commissioned Officer from the SL Navy and 02 Senior Non-Commissioned Officers from Bangladesh Army and Air Force. At the ceremony, 142 awardees received certificates to mark the successful completion of the courses.

Flight Sergeant Nimalarathne GAKNK and Sergeant Prabath RJUD were recognized as the Best All-Rounders among the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and Junior Non-Commissioned Officers of the No. 26 English Medium course. Meanwhile, Warrant Officer DM Liyanage and Corporal Ramanayaka SMSKI earned well-deserved awards as the Best All-Round Senior Non-Commissioned Officer and Junior Non-Commissioned Officer respectively in the No. 97 Sinhala Medium Course.

In addition to these outstanding achievers, the ceremony also celebrated a host of other special award winners, each contributing their unique strengths to the success of the courses.
