The SLAF Women’s Hockey Team emerged champions at the “Nijabima Satan” 9-a-side Hockey Tournament, organized by the Past Pupils’ Association of Vijaya College, Matale and held today (17 August 2025) at the Nandimithra Ekanayake International Hockey Ground, Matale.

In a thrilling final encounter, the SLAF Women’s Team displayed outstanding skill and determination to defeat the SL Navy Women’s Team by 03-01, thereby clinching the prestigious title.

The presence of six National players transformed the SLAF squad into a perfect balance of experience, talent and fighting spirit

Adding to the team’s success, SLAF player Leading Aircraftwoman Siriwardana MC was adjudged the “Best Goalkeeper” of the Tournament.
