SLAF MAKES HISTORY WITH DUAL VICTORY AT VISION ANNIVERSARY KABADDI TOURNAMENT 2025

The SLAF Men’s and Women’s Kabaddi Teams showcased outstanding skills the Vision Anniversary Champions Kabaddi Tournament 2025, held on 23 and 24 August 2025 at the PD Sirisena Public Grounds, Maligawatta, claiming both championship titles in the respective categories.

The SLAF Men’s Kabaddi Team secured the championship by defeating the Sri Lanka Navy in a thrilling final with a score of 35–28. Leading Aircraftman Samarakoon SMCR was named ‘Best Player’ and ‘Game Changer of the Tournament’ for his exceptional performance, while Leading Aircraftman Sandaruwan MAA earned the title of ‘Best Defender of the Tournament’.

The SLAF Women’s Kabaddi Team also emerged victorious in their final, defeating SL Navy with a hard-fought 31–29 victory. Leading Aircraftwoman Madhavi GKM delivered an outstanding performance, securing the titles of ‘Best Player’ and ‘Game Changer of the Tournament’, while Leading Aircraftwoman Bandara DGHK was recognized as the ‘Best Defender of the Tournament’.

The awards ceremony was held at the same venue and was graced by the presence of the Mayor of Colombo, Hon. Vrai Cally Balthazaar who attended as the Chief Guest and presented the awards to the winners.
