SLAF WEBSITE ACHIEVES TOP RECOGNITION AND TRIPLE SUCCESS AT BESTWEB.LK 2025
The official website of the Sri Lanka Air Force, www.airforce.lk, has been awarded the Overall Gold Winner at the BestWeb.lk 2025 competition, organized by the LK Domain Registry. The competition is held annually to recognize and reward the best websites in Sri Lanka.
In addition to the overall award, the website also received the Gold Award in the Government Website Category and the Best Mobile User Experience Award in the Government Website Category.
The awards ceremony was held yesterday (28 August 2025) at the Monarch Imperial Hotel, Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte. The Chief Guest at the event was the Acting Secretary to the Ministry of Digital Economy, Mr. Waruna Sri Dhanapala. The welcome address was delivered by the Chief Executive Officer and Domain Registrar of the LK Domain Registry, Professor Gihan Dias, who highlighted the importance of digital platforms in supporting Sri Lanka’s development. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Coordinator of the LK Domain Registry, Mrs. Jacintha Gammanpila.
The Sri Lanka Air Force was represented by the Director General Electronics and Computer Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Asitha Hettiarachchi, together with the Director Media, Group Captain Eranda Geeganage, Director Information Technology, Group Captain Chanaka Sooriyarachchi, Staff Officer Information Technology I, Group Captain Sampath Kumara, and the Commanding Officer, No. 01 ITW SLAF Base Ratmalana, Wing Commander Viranga Gunasekara, along with other officials. Their contribution in maintaining and developing the website led to this recognition.
This follows last year’s achievement, when airforce.lk received the Silver Award in the Government Website Category at BestWeb.lk 2024.
