BESTWEB.LK 2025 AWARD-WINNING TEAM OF SLAF CALLS ON THE COMMANDER
The SLAF team that represented
www.airforce.lk at the BestWeb.lk 2025 competition called on the
Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, at Air Force
Headquarters today (29 August 2025).
The SLAF website was recently awarded the Overall Gold Winner, the Gold Award in the Government Website Category, and the award for Best Mobile User Experience in the Government Website Category at the BestWeb.lk 2025 competition, organized by the LK Domain Registry. Notably, this is the first time that airforce.lk has received the Overall Gold Award, having previously secured the Overall Silver Award in 2017.
The Commander commended the team for the creativeness and professional contribution towards maintaining and enhancing the official website of the SLAF, which led to this recognition. He also emphasized the importance of continuing innovation in digital communication to effectively represent the SLAF to both national and international audiences.
The team was led by the Director General Electronics and Computer Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Asitha Hettiarachchi and included the Director Media, Group Captain Eranda Geeganage, Director Information Technology, Group Captain Chanaka Sooriyarachchi and the Commanding Officer, No. 01 ITW SLAF Base Ratmalana, Wing Commander Viranga Gunasekara, together with other officials.
