NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICERS’ MANAGEMENT SCHOOL AT SLAF ACADEMY CHINA BAY, CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY

The Non-Commissioned Officers' Management School, SLAF Academy China Bay, celebrated its 25th anniversary today (01 September 2025) by giving prominence to social, religious and recreational activities. The Non-Commissioned Officers' Management School, was established in the year 2000 with the primary aim to develop leadership qualities and managerial skills of the Non-Commissioned Officers to enable them to work efficiently to achieve predetermined objectives of the Air Force.  The day's celebrations commenced with a working parade at Academy Parade Ground and addressed the all the school staff and trainees by the Commanding Officer, Wing Commander Akhila De Alwis.

As part of the anniversary celebrations a ‘Shramadana’ campaign was organized on 30 August 2025 at several religious and community places including Sri Sumedhalankara Maha Vidyalaya, Sri Bodhipadaparamaya Temple, St. Anthony Muni Church, Auliya Allin Appa Jumma Mosque and the Hindu Kovil in China Bay. During the campaign, the school washroom complex was color washed and the playground was thoroughly cleaned, further contributing to the success of the event and enhancing the environment for the community.

In addition, a Religious programme was held on the same day at the Academy Temple premises to mark the occasion. Further, a tree plantation programme was also carried out at the Non-Commissioned Officers’ Management School premises with the active participation of staff and students.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
