POPPY FLOWER PINNED ON THE COMMANDER IN REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMEMORATION

In commemoration of Remembrance Day 2025, the President of the Poppy Committee of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces Veterans’ Association, Major General Mahinda Mudalige (Retd), pinned the poppy flower on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe, at Air Force Headquarters today (02 September 2025).

The proceeds from the sale of poppy flowers will be utilized for the welfare of retired and disabled war veterans.

The Vice President of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces Veterans’ Association, Air Vice Marshal LMSK Leelaratne (Retd), the Honorary Treasurer, Major Chiltus De Silva (Retd),  Coordinating Officer Veterans' Association, Air Commodore Subash Jayathileke along with other members of the Poppy Committee, were also present at the occasion.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
