EXPOSURE VISIT UNDER ‘CLEAN TODAY – GREEN TOMORROW' INITIATIVE

An exposure visit was organized under the ‘Clean Today – Green Tomorrow' Environmental Initiative yesterday (04 September 2025) to the New Peacock, Dunsinane and Meddecombra Estates managed by Aitken Spence Plantations.

The programme was designed to provide participants with enhanced knowledge of sustainable plantation management and proven environmental practices. During the visit, participants gained first-hand exposure to GIS mapping, drone applications, tissue culture methods, berry cultivation projects, mechanization in tea production and eco-friendly estate operations.

In addition, participants had the opportunity to observe community-based initiatives and the programme concluded with a visit to an Elder’s Home.
The Aitken Spence Plantations Team extended excellent hospitality and shared valuable insights, making the visit both informative and impactful. The exposure and knowledge gained will directly contribute to the ongoing environmental projects being implemented across Sri Lanka Air Force bases and stations under the ‘Clean Today – Green Tomorrow' initiative.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
