A house constructed under the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit was handed over to the family of Squadron Leader RD Sooriyarachchi (Deceased) today (10 September 2025) and the housewarming ceremony was held at Maithri Road, Ingiriya. The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit funded this project, while the construction work was undertaken by the dedicated staff of the Civil Engineering Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake. This project was executed under the guidance of the Director General Construction Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Vajira Senadheera and supervised by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura, Air Commodore Buddhika Piyasiri.

The event was attended by the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura, Air Commodore Buddhika Piyasiri, Secretary Seva Vanitha Unit, Wing Commander Lilangi Randeni, the staff of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and a cross-section of officers and other rankers of SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura.
