SLAF AVIATION UNIT IN MINUSCA MARKS 11TH ANNIVERSARY WITH COMMUNITY SUPPORT AND COMMEMORATIONS IN BRIA
The Sri Lanka Aviation Unit deployed under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) proudly celebrated its 11th Anniversary on 09 September 2025 at Bria, Central African Republic.
The celebrations commenced with a Formation Day Parade, which was reviewed by the Contingent Commander of the 10th SLAF Aviation Contingent MINUSCA, Group Captain Uditha De Silva. Following the parade, a Tree Planting Programme was conducted within the camp premises.
Subsequently, the Unit carried out a Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activity aimed at supporting the local community. During this outreach programme, the SLAF Aviation Unit distributed stationery, clothing and sports equipment to more than 300 school children in Bria, reaffirming its dedication to humanitarian engagement alongside operational duties.
The day's events concluded with a friendly Elle tournament involving all contingent members, followed by a commemorative gathering to celebrate the occasion.
