SLAF EXCELS AT THE INAUGURAL NATIONAL PENTATHLON CHALLENGE 2025
The SLAF participated in the National Pentathlon Challenge 2025, held on
13 September 2025 at the Pearl Bay Sports Complex, Bandaragama. The
event, organized by the Modern Pentathlon Federation of Sri Lanka
(MPFSL), featured five disciplines: swimming, fencing, obstacle, running
and shooting.
SLAF athletes performed commendably across several categories. Flying Officer Isiwaruna De Silva won the Senior Men’s category, earning the Gold Medal, while Leading Aircraftman Senarathne MNP secured the Bronze Medal in the same category.
In the Senior Women’s category, SLAF competitors achieved further success, with Leading Aircraftwoman Dasanayaka LKGKK winning the Gold Medal and Leading Aircraftwoman Rathnathilaka RASN taking the Silver Medal.
The event also functioned as a selection trial for the upcoming Asian Modern Pentathlon Championships 2025, scheduled to be held in Anjo, Japan, from 9 to 17 November 2025. The results place SLAF athletes in a strong position for potential representation at the international level.
