The Change of Command at the Aeronautical Research and Development Wing at SLAF Station Katukurunda took place today (15 September 2025). The traditional Handing Over/Taking Over Parade was conducted at the Wing premises where the Outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain MP Abeywickrama USP handed over command of the Wing to Group Captain I Chandratilleke USP, Pg Dip (Def Mgt).

The new Commanding Officer Group Captain I Chandratilleke previously served as the Staff Officer Quality Assurance (Electronic Engineering) before being appointed to command the Aeronautical Research and Development Wing.
