DEPUTY MINISTER DEFENCE ENGAGES WITH AIR FORCE TOP MANAGEMENT
The Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), visited Air Force Headquarters today (01 October 2025).
The Deputy Minister was received by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe and accorded a ceremonial welcome. He later held discussions with the Commander and met with the Air Force Board of Management on matters related to operational and administrative responsibilities.
Addressing senior officers, the Deputy Minister Defence highlighted the importance of accountability in all aspects of service, while appreciating the Air Force’s role in national development projects and disaster management efforts. He also emphasized the need for close supervision of personnel engaged in external projects, ensuring professionalism, discipline and adherence to standards.
The Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Lasitha Sumanaweera, members of the Board of Management, Base Commanders and Commanding Officers were present at the occasion.
