The Change of Command at No.9 Attack Helicopter Squadron SLAF Base Hingurakgoda was held on 01 October 2025.The traditional Handing over/Taking over parade was conducted at the squadron premises where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain LYW Senevirathna RSP and two Bars, USP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), psc handed over the command to Group Captain KDWK kodikara RSP and three Bars, USP , BSc (Def Stu) , MTS ,MIM (SL).

The outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain LYW Senavirathna, concluded 25 years of distinguished service upon his retirement. The newly appointed Commanding Officer Group Captain KDWK Kodikara previously held the appointment as the Flight Commander No 61 Flight SLAF Base Ratmalana before being appointed as the Commanding Officer No.9 Attack Helicopter Squardron.
