CLOSING CEREMONY OF NO. 45 LAND BASED AIR DEFENCE BASIC COURSE AT SLAF STATION IRANAMADU

The closing remarks and trophy awarding ceremony of the No. 45 Land Based Air Defence Basic Course was held today (20 October 2025) at the Air Defence Gunnery Training School (ADGTS), Sri Lanka Air Force Station Iranamadu. The Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Iranamadu, Group Captain Jayarathna Amarasinghe, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The No. 45 Land Based Air Defence Basic Course, comprising two officers and five airmen, successfully concluded after four months of rigorous training under the leadership of Commanding Officer of ADGTS, Squadron Leader BMPI Balasooriya SLAF Station Iranamadu. During the ceremony, trainees received their certificates upon successful completion of the course.

Flying Officer RMCN Rathnayake was awarded the ‘Best Land Based Air Defence Gunner’ trophy among all officers and airmen.

The event was attended by all officers, instructors and airmen of SLAF Station Iranamadu.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
