The Change of Command of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda was held yesterday (12 November 2025). The handing over/ taking over parade was conducted at the apron of the No.07 Squadron where the outgoing Base Commander, 

Air Commodore SD Jayaweera RWP and Bar, RSP and two Bars, USP, MSc (MOA) USA, MSc (Sec & Strat Std), BSc (Def stu), psc, fawc (Pak), qfi handed over the command to Group Captain SR Jayaratne WV, WWV, RSP, USP, MMS (Mil Com-PRC), BSc (Def Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc, qhi. 

The outgoing Base Commander, Air Commodore SD Jayaweera will take over the duties as the Base Commander of SLAF Base Ratmalana.
