SLAF troops extended their assistance to restore operations on the main upcountry railway line, which had been disrupted due to an earth slip between Ohiya and Idalgashinna yesterday (19 November 2025).

Upon a request made by the Disaster Management Centre, Badulla, a dedicated team comprising two officers and fifteen Air Force personnel was deployed to support the clearance efforts. Working in close coordination with railway employees, the team tirelessly exerted immense effort to remove the earth and rocks that had blocked the track.
