SLAF STATION KATUKURUNDA CELEBRATES 41ST ANNIVERSARY
SLAF Station Katukurunda commemorated its 41st anniversary on 16 November 2025, with celebratory events being held yesterday (20 November 2025). Under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Group Captain Manjula Abeywickrama, the occasion featured a series of community service initiatives and recreational activities organized with the participation of all officers, other ranks and civil staff.
A Blood Donation Campaign was conducted at the Duwa Temple in Kalutara, organized in collaboration with the Punsadani Bodhinayaka Social Care Foundation and facilitated by the District General Hospital. The campaign successfully engaged 23 service personnel, contributing to the National Blood Transfusion Service and strengthening the Station’s commitment to community welfare. Additionally, a Shramadana programme was carried out at the MARCSRI Home, providing assistance to differently abled individuals and residents in need.
The anniversary celebrations commenced with the customary Working Parade held this morning. The parade was reviewed by the Commanding Officer, followed by an engaging night softball cricket tournament, which encouraged active participation from both service and civil personnel.
