SLAF STATION PALALY CELEBRATES 45TH ANNIVERSARY
SLAF Station Palaly marked its 45th Anniversary on 01 January 2026 with a series of ceremonial, religious and welfare activities.
The day’s proceedings commenced with the customary Working Parade, reviewed by the Commanding Officer, Group Captain Suranga Seneviratne. Following the parade, the Commanding Officer and all personnel participated in multi-religious observances. Thereafter, personnel witnessed the anniversary address delivered by the Commander of the Air Force. The programme continued with the All Ranks Breakfast at the Airmen’s Mess.
A tree-planting programme and a cricket tournament were also conducted as part of the anniversary activities.
As part of the Station Day commemorations, an all-night Pirith Chanting Ceremony was held yesterday (02 January 2026) in remembrance of SLAF personnel who made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland. The anniversary programme concluded today (03 January 2026) with an almsgiving offered to the Venerable Maha Sangha at the station premises.
