CHANGE OF COMMAND OF THE PARACHUTE TRAINING SCHOOL AT SLAF REGIMENTAL TRAINING CENTRE AMPARA

The Change of Command of the Parachute Training School at SLAF Regimental Training Centre Ampara took place today (04 January 2026). The traditional Handing Over / Taking Over Parade was held at the school premises, where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Wing Commander MAV Gomis handed over command to Squadron Leader UVS Bandara MSc (Def & Strat Stu), psc. 
 
Wing Commander Gomis will proceed to assume duties as the Officer Commanding Operations of No. 26 Regiment Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake. The new Commanding Officer, Squadron Leader Bandara previously served as the Chief Instructor of the SLAF Parachute Training School, Ampara, before being appointed as the Commanding Officer of SLAF Parachute Training School, Ampara.
