‘LION CUBS’ CELEBRATE THREE DECADES OF SERVICE
The No. 10 Fighter Squadron, known as the “Lion Cubs,” marked its 30th anniversary today (05 January 2026), commemorating three decades of service to the SLAF. The anniversary celebrations began with a Working Parade held at the squadron hangar premises, under the patronage of Group Captain WMTGPS Wijekoon, the Commanding Officer of the squadron.
Addressing the officers and airmen, Group Captain Wijekoon reviewed the squadron’s history and operational role, acknowledging the contributions of both past and present members over the past 30 years.
As part of the anniversary programme, a Shramadana and almsgiving activity was conducted at St. Anne’s Children’s Home in Negombo. The initiative aimed to provide assistance to the children’s home, with active involvement from squadron personnel.
