The change of command at SLAF Station Koggala took place today (02 February 2026) with a traditional handing over/ taking over parade at the station parade ground.  The outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain HAWP Hettiarachchi USP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), MBA, MCPS, B Com (Def Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc handed over the command to Group Captain M Seneviratne USP, psc.

Group Captain Hettiarachchi, will proceed to assume duties as the Commanding Officer of No. 31 Regiment Wing at SLAF Station Bandaranaike International Airport. The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain Seneviratne previously served as the Commanding Officer of No. 26 Regiment Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake, before being appointed as the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Koggala.
