SPECIAL HEALTH CLINIC FOR KIA/MIA FAMILY MEMBERS

SLAF Base Hingurakgoda conducted a specialized medical, dental, and mental health clinic today (09 February 2026) at the base premises, under the guidance of the Base Commander, Air Commodore Sanoj Jayarathne. This initiative was part of a wider programme initiated by the Directorate of Welfare across all Air Force establishments to coincide with the 75th Anniversary celebrations of the Sri Lanka Air Force.

The clinic was specifically dedicated to supporting the family members of personnel Killed in Action (KIA) and those Missing in Action (MIA), honoring their sacrifice as part of the Air Force's milestone anniversary. The program was carried out with the active participation of Base Medical Officers, Dental Officers and a Psychologist, alongside the dedicated hospital staff of the Base.

A total of 30 participants received medical attention during the campaign. The dental clinic successfully completed 21 procedures, while the Psychologist conducted an interactive session on mental health to support the emotional well-being of the families. Following the medical sessions, the participants were provided with lunch.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
