As a part of goodwill and international corporation activities of Ichinomiya City, the official donation ceremony of one fire engine has been conducted on 09 February 2026 to the Sri Lanka Air Force through the Ichinomiya lions Club at Mayors Office, Ichinomiya City Office, Japan and the donated fire vehicle will be physically handed over to the Sri Lanka Air force in near future by the Japan Lanka Friendship Association. 

Director General Air Operation Air Vice Marshal Dammika Dias, The Mayor of Ichinomiya City, President of the Japan - Lanka Friendship Association, Dr.  Lal Thilakarathne, Dr. Eranga Thilakarathne and Chief Fire Officer Group Captain Prasanna Jayawickrema were attended to the event virtually.
